Chelci has been singing for over 20 years. She never took singing lessons, just learned by singing along to her favorite country songs on the radio.  She is a former Miss Grantsville.  She attended Southern Utah University where she learned to play the guitar and continued performing when she could.

She auditioned and was picked, the only semi finalist from Utah in the Nashville Star competition season 3. She traveled to Austin, TX to compete for a spot on the show, but was not chosen.  She received gold tickets while auditioning for American Idol in Denver, CO and Salt Lake City, UT but did not make it to the celebrity judge rounds.

She has been a member of the Exit 99 band since it began in 2011. She sings lead, background vocals, and plays rhythm guitar.  She is a country girl and you'll hear it in her voice.

Chelci is happily married and has 4 kids. She is a part time Dental Hygienist and full time mom.  Her greatest accomplishment is her family.  She is grateful her family allows her to participate in the band and pursue her love of music.

David is a long time resident of Tooele, UT.  Known throughout his life as "Beach".  David has played in various bands with Tom for over 35 years.  David's major musical influences growing up were like most other guitar players- Clapton, Hendrix, and Van Halen;  but after meeting Chelci he dove head first into country guitar picking and NEVER LOOKED BACK!!!  David started the band in 2011 that would later become Exit 99.

TOM SLOWIK

Tom grew up listening to his older brother’s records from the 50’s and 60’s. He learned to play Bass by playing along with Elvis, the surf music of the Beach Boys, the Beatles, and then Creedence Clearwater Revival. Most of his influences are on the country side of music these days.

Through the years Tom's been in 12 bands and has been fortunate enough to open for acts such as The Bellamy Brothers and Restless Heart and a few other major acts in the Country genre.

Tom has been a member of Exit 99 since its beginning in 2011.
“I feel extremely lucky to be playing with such a fun, crazy and talented group of fine musicians”.

NIKI SCHIFFMAN

// violin

// keyboard

0-51.jpg

Niki has always loved a wide variety of music and it's always been a major part of her life from the very beginning. She grew up plinking on her family's piano as a toddler, playing mostly by ear until she started piano lessons at the age of 12 for a few, short years, mostly focusing on classical and baroque music. It wasn't long until her piano teacher told her she would need to seek out a more advanced teacher. This is where her lessons ended and she played only occasionally after that.

Violin has always been her first musical love and passion but she was unable to pursue it until she became an adult. She started studying violin in 2015 and is currently taking lessons under the tutelage of an amazing teacher that played in the Utah Symphony for over 50 years. In July 2017, her first violin teacher gave her phone number to David Beacham, lead guitarist of Exit 99, which lead to her joining the band.

She works full time at a title company as a licensed Title Officer, conducting property research, performing IT/Help Desk/Network Admin duties, and providing training to other employees.

She and her husband have a menagerie of pets. Horses and horse training are a large part of her life and she enjoys helping horses and their owners reach their horsemanship goals when she's not pursuing music.

DANIEL FETZER

// drums

0-28.jpg

Daniel is a self taught drummer since the age of 14. He started by playing in a country/rock band (Shadow River) and then a metal band (Two Stroke) with some studio recording experience. With a "slight" 14 year gap of not playing it seems he has made a full circle and is playing country and metal again.

He was graciously accepted into Exit 99 in the beginning of December 2018 and is looking forward to many years with them. Being surrounded by such talented musicians has also prompted him to buy an acoustic guitar and a bass to further his musical abilities and experience.

CASEY KRESS

// sound technician

Casey has been involved with Exit 99 since its beginning. He started out as a true roadie and now takes reigns of being the sound technician. Originally from Minnesota he and his beautiful family call Tooele, UT home. His wife Wendy and son Harrison are some of Exit 99’s biggest fans.

Casey truly believes all music has a place where it can shine. He has been around music since he was in elementary school, playing the saxophone, singing in the school’s choir, and listening to his mother and grandmother play the piano. These moments are what has shaped his love for live music.

From crafting the pre-concert playlist to feathering together the beautiful sounds of Exit 99, he can set the backdrop to any get together or country fueled concert.
